SOIL PROPERTIES MAPPING USING PROXIMAL AND REMOTE SENSING AS COVARIATE

چکیده
Obtaining knowledge about the distribution of spatial variability soil properties is crucial to proper site-specific management. One way improve quality mapping by using auxiliary information (covariate). The objective this study was test whether remote and proximal sensing data can assist in through geostatistical prediction. We worked an experimental area cultivated with sugarcane located Sao Paulo State, Brazil, selected five properties: organic matter, CEC, base saturation, K P availability. Two covariates often used express variation were chosen, one obtained (SWIR2 band) other (apparent electrical conductivity – ECa). These individually together interpolation method (kriging external drift). found that ECa a more promising covariate than SWIR2 band from orbital imaging. Such identify short-range variability. However, when property well explained sampling procedure, multivariate methods may not accuracy.

Extended abstract 1- Introduction Soil salinity is one of the most important desertification parameters in many parts of the world. Thus, preparing soil salinity maps in macro scales is necessary. Water and soil salinity as one of the contributing parameters in desertification, cause soil and vegetation degradation. Soil salinization represents many negative effects on the earth systems such ...
متن کاملLand cover land use mapping and change detection analysis using geographic information system and remote sensing
Land cover/land use categories are relevant components in land management. Understanding how land cover/land use change over time is necessary to assess the consequences of humans and natural stressors on the earth’s environment and resources. The aim of the study was to map and monitor the spatial and temporal change in land cover/land use for the periods of 1977, 1991 and 2016 and to predict ...
متن کاملInland wetlands mapping and vulnerability assessment using an integrated geographic information system and remote sensing techniques
The understanding of inland wetlands’ distribution and their level of vulnerability is important to enhance management and conservation efforts. The aim of the study was to map inland wetlands and assess their distribution pattern and vulnerability to natural and human disturbances such as climate change (temperature increase) and human activities by the year 2080. Inland wetland types i.e. for...
